One can drive up and down the Strip for hours and never experience the view from 1,000 feet above. Remember, the Luxor beam can be seen from outer space!
There are many helicopter tour companies based in Vegas that can
accommodate you. We don’t have the time to review all of them but will review others in the coming weeks and months. They all receive 4.5 and 5 star ratings
Some even offer trips to the Grand Canyon. The air distance from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon West Rim is about 130 miles – and in a helicopter, it takes about 40 minutes. Enjoy the ride!
As I mentioned there are numerous helicopter companies based in Las Vegas like GC Flight, 5 Star Helicopter, Skyline Helicopter, 702 Helicopter and other quality companies. We’ll be sure to cover some of the others in the future!
For this article we somewhat randomly chose Maverick Helicopters – then found their history to be pretty interesting. The company is one of the largest aviation-based tourism companies in the world which started modestly way back in 1995. Maverick Helicopters now employs over 250 dedicated team members whose mission is to provide bucket list, aerial experiences. The company operates more than 45 luxury helicopters.
Maverick Helicopters
We understand it is far more common to get on a plane than a helicopter. Since it’s not a common place experience most
people may have a safety concern. I shared this sentiment getting on a helicopter for the first time. Since my initial flight I have been on many including flying in a helicopter in the Arctic numerous times. But I digress…
Maverick Helicopters’ pledge to customer service is matched only by its commitment to safety. The founder, a former helicopter pilot, knows the importance of top-level maintenance and is hands-on in defining operational safety values well beyond industry standards. Maverick Helicopters currently holds the industry’s top safety record and has received 12 consecutive “Diamond Awards” of Excellence from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The pilots at Maverick Helicopters far exceed the experience level of any other helicopter operator. They fly side-by-side with instructors and senior management to uphold and maintain the strict standards created by the founder.
The prices range from anywhere between roughly $100-$500 per person depending on which trip you choose.
Maverick Helicopters maintains the top safety record of any tourism-based aviation company in the world. The company has received 12 consecutive “Diamond Awards” of Excellence from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The company operates the world’s largest and youngest fleet of Airbus EC130/H130 with nearly 50 aircraft. Since its inception,
Maverick Helicopters has safely provided memorable helicopter experiences to millions of passengers.
All of Maverick Helicopters’ aircraft undergo extensive, routine safety and maintenance inspections at our maintenance facility.
Highly experienced pilots will escort passengers in and out of the aircraft, ensuring comfort and safety for all.
Keep in mind if/when you decide to experience a helicopter ride covering Las Vegas you want to most likely experience it at night. Why? Because it’s estimated that the annual electricity bill for the
Las Vegas Strip is about $400,000,000 annually!!!
That’s a lot of lights and it’s an invigorating experience! Enjoy!
